Wave Interacting with TUTT this Weekend

Our wave will be at about the 60-yard line around Saturday.

TUTT will be anchored at about 24N 65W

Shear should induce some strong MCS convection.

Puerto Rico should get some strong thunderstorms Saturday Night into Sunday.

Big question is what will happen to it on the SW side of the TUTT.

Mixed message if this stays in the Carib.

A sub-tropical jet will flow over Cuba then driven by the TUTT.

If it can stay significantly south of the jet, it can utilize its enhanced outflow channel and possibly develop.

However, if vorticity is too far north, perhaps around Jamacia, it could get shredded.

Right now, vorticity is pretty far north - can see a crest on MIMIC-TPW.

Wait and see.
