what's confusing is the reporting of "customers without power" in relation to "people without power" - 1 customer might have a house with 6 people or be a commercial customer
of course, it also affected other states, not just TX & LA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Ike

I think we were without power less than 1 day in Cypress from Ike, but we got very little wind - some areas were without power over 1 month. What really sucked was losing power about 5 times in 1 day, albeit for very short periods, when ALEX went inland in MEXICO!!! I think some of the repairs made during Ike really need to be revisited... |
