Re: Shear Wall?

Maybe he has a sad face because he sees the little fella in the bottom right of this sat view:
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/imagery/catl.html
He wanted all the attention. That could be the next player if it starts organizing some. 92L is kind of devoid of precip at the moment in the Carib, so we might have to look further out for Danielle.

Hard to tell what Colin is doing. If the former he was a little closer to PR, we could see him on radar. As it is though, there might be a storm at some point that pops up that could indicate some spinning, but it has not happened yet. (But it is really a little too far to see and even if it did, the radar beam that far out would be high up.)

PR radar anyway:

If the area formerly know as Colin can hang on maybe another three days he will have a better chance with less shear:
ftp://ftp.tpc.ncep.noaa.gov/atcf/stext/10080500AL0410_ships.txt
(Link to 8/5 0Z SHIPS output)

Shear portion of the SHIPS output for 8/5 0Z:

TIME (HR)           0      6    12    18    24    36    48    60    72    84    96   108   120
SHEAR (KT)        15    24    24    20    20    21    21    17    15     3    10    10    14

He's going to have to suit up with some armor and "hunker" down for the next 3 days.
