Ex-TD05 extreme lightning - question
Posted by DTB_2009 on 8/12/2010, 8:54 am
Anyone have an explanation why there is so much lightning with ex-TD05?  We had almost constant lightning between 5:45 and 6:30 CDT this morning. (29.5N 90.3W - SSW of N.O.) There is still sporadic lightning now.  My understanding is that most pure tropical systems normally have very little lightning.  Does this mean that ex-05 was some kind of hybrid or subtropical and maybe that was why it never really developed?
