Hurricane City  has it all... if you're lurking here & have some time, check it out - if you're an old timer, check out all the updates, they're amazing.. Satellites, radars, tracking maps that automatically update, city databases, it goes on & on...

A little history

Read about how it all began & how Bill Phillips, Chris Hollis, Mark Davis & Derek Sibley came into the picture & all they do to help make it a great place in addition to keeping up their own websites & update videos.  Awesome photos, my fav is of Jim filming in hurricane Gloria &, of course, the infamous chicken suit... Chock full of links, like the 2006 gathering - read about many of the familiar posters here who contributed and attended.

How to use Jim's site

"This website is so massive that even seasoned web surfers will miss many of the great features that hurricanecity.com has to offer. This page is a tutorial on how to use hurricanecity starting from top to bottom. We recommend when the tropics are slow to come back and take your time exploring the website,it will be well worth your time!"

So much great info & he adds to it & makes it better all the time.

Weekly Predictions

what does he think Danielle will do?  Will Earl follow?  He doesn't hide from his predictions, grades them the following week.  Check out the "this day in hurricane history", more great links on this page than will fit in your Favorites folder, awesome info

Tropical Update Video

Jim's take on the tropics, updated regularly when storms are active & full of charts & explanations to help even novice weather junkies ( like me) understand it all.  Regular seasonal shows at night, recorded for subscribers.  Check out a portion of his season predictions from 2005 he has a link for it in the website - chilling accuracy

Hurricane TV

Fantastic live, as well as recorded video.  Keeps you in the hurricane without the danger.  When there's not a cane hitting, fantastic recorded video or live weather observations from his tower. (right now I'm listening to Joe B's interview)

Do you frequent the social sites?  Check HC/Jim out on Facebook and Twitter.

And while he mentions it very infrequently, if you enjoy the site & benefit from all the knowledge, donate or subscribe to the video archives or donate to help keep it all running smoothly.

I'm sure I've missed dozens of stuff included in his site, but you get the idea - it's the best on the web & that's why we're all here.
