I think the turn is coming soon. You can see the break in the ridge just to the NW of Danielle.
Also, even if she didn't turn for 500 miles, she still goes out to sea.
Earl has two options: 1) a Danielle wake induced turn to the WNW and NW, before heading out to sea; or 2) misses the wake, ridge builds in.
In scenario #2, Earl still goes out to sea. There are two troughs expected to cross the Atlantic in the next 2 weeks, and one of them will catch him.
I do think that there might be an unexpected formation somewhere in the Caribbean or Gulf within the next week or so. Probably minor, but still formation nonetheless.
Interesting thought: That by week's end, we may have gone from 0 majors to 2 within days. |
