The email system works much like a PM system as Cypress mentioned. The reason why I didn't design it into a complete PM system is so that for privacy the messages are not stored on this server. If they were, then I could read them. For that reason on the sites I build I don't save the message so that people know that someone is not spying on their message. I built a site where that kind of thing was more important.
