Earl has the "classic" feel to him ....

The "classic" track, i.e., the wondering westwardly track of a Cape Verdes hurricane that leads to the Antilles, either through them or north of them, and then treks along towards the Caribbean, Gulf or smacks into the east coast.
The ridge is going to be strong, and some pushes just south of due west wouldn't be out of order.
Danielle is the only saving grace for keeping Earl out to sea. If she pulls off north, ahead of him, at a good enough clip, she will leave a possible strengthening ridge in her absence. Given that, Earl could very well be on track to make the westward move to near the islands.
The NHC 500PM discussion said it best, "Let's see what the next models cycles do."
Earl is still 3000+ miles away from the US mainland, and it will be a week or so before he approaches 60W. THEN, we will see what we are dealing with. |
