Exactly right--you need that "seaboard sluice" of a trough approaching from the west and a high building towards the coast from the east to get a NE hit. Sounds simple enough, until you take a hard look at just how infrequently it happens. It's mind-boggling, really, to see how rare a set-up that has turned out to be throughout recorded climatological history. |
