Earl is ramping up a bit.
There has been a report that the center of circulation jogged southwestward while the hurricane hunters have been out there.
Earl is reaching the end of the ridge. You can see him slowing down. BUT, I think his westward movement has gotten him to a point where a U.S. landfall near SC/NC is quite plausible.
If he does not shift northwestward by, at least, tomorrow afternoon, Earl is going to significantly raise the chances that SC/NC will see a landfalling Cat 3/4 hurricane in 72-84 hours. |
