NC Ferry System

For those of you who aren't aware there is a massive system of Ferry boats, most of them free.

Great ride, if you are ever up this way... worth a trip just to take the ferry....

A lot of barrier islands and disconnected beaches with roads inland that don't exist...

Water world out there... great wind out in the sound...

Also... water rushes historically up the sounds and then out... historic death tolls on other side of eye surges

Anyway, to really appreciate what is going on and what it is like...

A lot of people deciding tonight whether to go or stay.... expecting the turn, want to be there in place for labor day.... long trip inland.... usual suspect of reasons people stay
