I really like the new IR / Microwave Combo Loop
This is just a theory, but I think the large wobbles may induce EWRCs.
The tilting of the vortex column as a TC intensifies causes a downdraft in a localzed quadrant of the TC.
Somehow that sinking air mixes in the boundary layer and fires up new convection a certain radial distance away from the LLC thus kicking off the new outer band.
This is kinda like a shear induced MCS being generated.
