As of 0930. Only about 4500 without power out of 2.5 million in VA and SE NC.

Some wind restrictions on the bridges and tunnels. but overall...not a big deal here; wind and light wind blown rain. NNW at 9mph...gusts to 32. Probably will have beach erosion reports coming in later.
Looks like a lot of people got an extra day for the Labor Day weekend!!

At Virginia Beach oceanfront, 20 mi away: NNW at 33mph gusting to 40mph with heavy rain intermittently.

"Thought all the windows had been locked but found 3 that were still unlocked. They happen to be the most critical ones too, like next in line to get boarded up. Still leaking locked. 11:30pm the wind really picked up so I duck taped those windows. House is shaking. Goose bumps. Sharon just woke up, forgot she was in a storm, & came down stairs freaked out." |
