The Week Ahead

The 12Z GFS is developing Gaston and moving it west to just north of Puerto Rico by Wednesday.  It then slows it down and moves it up into the southern Bahamas, just southeast of Miami by Mon the 13th.  The Euro, which had a tough time last week (it incorrectly developed Fiona) does not show this. It does not develop Gaston.   In the Gulf, the GFS develops a system in the SW Gulf and moves it north-northwest to the Mexican coast just south of Brownsville.  The 12Z NAM also agrees with this. Again, the Euro does not see this.  Both the GFS and the Euro agree that a wave that moves off of the African coast after Labor Day will develop as it moves west.  So if the GFS verifies: we could have Gaston moving towards the Lesser Antilles, Hermine southeast of Brownsville,TX, and Igor out in the central Atlantic.
