Igor takes a dive SW this evening

Sat images show a rather dramatic dive towards the SW the last few hours. Although most of the guidance showed a due west track the GFNI has the WSW motion, but not this early or this much. Interesting developments on Igor, as a more prolonged southern route could affect the interaction with the mid atlantic trough.
Forecast is straight forward here, strengthening storm heading mostly westward or WSW??? NEXT several days.
But, how how far west the cyclone goes will depend on the amplitude of the trough. Looks like the curved road this year is in place near 20N - 60W and that's where this system will likely turn. |
