What do you think.....

This is my uneducated guess...

Is there a shift in the pattern beginning?  This is the deepest trof I've seen this season to move down the west coast.   This might just let the stubborn ridge over the South Central US retrograde West.  IMHO this ridge has been stronger than usual and is what has been protecting the mainland by positioning the summer trof farther East.   If the trend follows the deep trof off of the West coast, ridging in the atlantic can build West.  Climo is on it.  Let's watch.  The trof over the East this year is already flattening out. West Pac is under increased ridging This is the time of year that the patterns begin to shift.  Where will the fronts dive in the fall?  Off the East coast or shifted West .  I think West.  I think Omega block moves in for the rest of the season over the far North Eastern US.  I think the general weakness moves west  over the Central Gulf Coast.  When the fronts come I think they'll be shifted west, exposing the Central and Eastern Gulf a little more than normal.
