I wouldn't be writing this off as a fish quite yet.

GFS is showing a completely different picture as far as the possible development of a cut-off low in the Midwest that could possibly recurve this.

Models have not initialized a LLC fix yet.  In fact, it looks like it may be farther south than first thought.

One thing looks for sure is there will be a strong cut-off low in the SW CONUS.

That may setup a block and a persistant ridge in the east CONUS.
