Those are really great questions.

The overall LL winds are moving to the WSW.

So, ABC could get convection, but I don't think a direct hit.

Afternoon heating of the air over the SA landmass will destabilize and feed into Tomas.

That could in fact help to give Tomas a boost in energy.
