MAGNETIC STORM IN PROGRESS

| A solar wind stream hit Earth's magnetic field during the early hours of March 1st, sparking a G1-class geomagnetic storm, in progress. Michael F. Jones sends this picture from Chugach State Park near Anchorage, Alaska:  The show began around 1:00 am Alaska time," says Jones. "Then the Northern Lights really lit up the sky for about an hour."    |
