No I haven't.

I just googled and looks interesting.

It looks like it is based on QED and virtual-particle pair production and annihilation.

I know this concept was expanded on by Stephen Hawkings when virtual particles are created near a black hole's horizon.

One of the particles falls into the hole and the other is left.

So, in effect, it looks like the hole is producing particles and thereby generating mass / energy.

I am going to look into this more.
