I don't know the design. It is old though.
If I remember my NE classes correctly, they are in hexagon shaped bundles.
To SCRAM a reactor they have to push the control rods up.
That requires a motor which needs power.
They are dead in the water.
The clever thing with Navy reactors is that control rods are positioned above the core.
So, if they have to SCRAM a reactor they just cut the cable holding the rods.
