Hello,
This is the simple liquefaction demonstration equipment.
I made a liquefaction shaking table.
The motor used is 1800 rpm.
The sand box size is 25*30*25 (w*l*h)cm.
I use fine sand, particle size is around 0.1-0.5 mm.
The sand is saturated.
The water level is at the top of the sand.
Liquefaction only occurs in loose sand so I loose it before shaking.
When I start to shake it, the building model will sink into the sand.
The differnt type of foundation is no differrent in the result.
I use shallow foundation and pile foundation, both sink into the sand.
This is my researh at Civil Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
