... utterly devastating. There was very little that could be done - it was a fire storm in every sense of the word. The forest fires are in the oil sands area too ... but so far nothing is threatened. Everything is timber dry or dead because of the devastating mountain pine beetle that is killing a ton of trees out west on both sides of the border. If there are no casualties I'll be very surprised. I've heard of people just sitting in there homes watching the flames advance towards them.
