Latest update on the 13 June aftershocks

Flooding

Pages Road, Bexley, has been closed following flooding from the Avon River. There is also flooding in Avondale road. Stopbanks breached at Avonside.

Water supplies

Tankers delivering water have been set up on the corner of Wainoni and Breezes Roads and also on the Sumner side of the causeway.

We are trying to get more tankers out overnight to areas without water.

The water supply has been restored to South Shore and North Brighton.

Power

30,000 households without power, should reduce to 20,000 overnight as crews work on. No serious damage to network. Area affected is similar to February, but cables much less affected.

Rockfall

Sumner and eastern Port Hills/Morgans Gully.

Welfare

Cowles Stadium welfare centre will be open from 9pm tonight. There are already people starting to trickle in. The centre is able to cater for 300 people . Special support is also planned for Lyttelton.
