Fox Island Quake may have been a trigger

The most notable feature of the seismicity which followed the Fox Islands earthquake was its unusual nature.
Rare events followed in northern Mexico, South Carolina, South Georgia Island, Romania, Bulgaria and Haiti among other regions.
The unusual nature of these earthquakes strongly suggests a degree of triggering from the earthquake in Alaska.
The most likely trigger would be water pressed into faults by the passing seismic waves.
This water can then lubricate faults and bring about subsequent earthquakes.
