Just checking the West Carib system and saw this - never seen it before.

A very strange PV anomaly at 200mb (340K Potential Temp) over the Midwest.

A strong, localized rise of the tropopause.

Wonder if this correlates with the strong OLR in the SW CONUS yesterday?
