Yeah, it's looking more and more like a Gulf Storm. I think we're very possible to have a Rita or Katrina-like path forming here. One that goes through the Keys and turns up somewhere in the Gulf. Wouldn't even surprise me to see an Ivan or Charley like path where it goes under the DR and Cuba and turns up.
As for strength, Hispanola is going to play a HUGE role in this thing. This is the Hurricane Iceberg.......you run into it and it can cripple you. Storms have been known to be buried there. Others have come away battered and bruised, but did re-form a couple days after. But one thing's for sure.....if this thing goes right over the heart of those mountains, it's gonna come out either limping or sucking on life support. |
