I think the system you are referring to that is headed towards Hispaniola and maybe se bahamas isn't 94L.  It looks like it broke off of 94L.   It's just a wave situated at approximately 20N 67W.  
94L is located (28N 60W) http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/float2.html
