Surface lows tends to use the local flow around the land and I'm currently thinking a west movement bouncing off PR somewhat going WSW a bit before going into Haiti and Cuba.

From there, Southern Florida ...

You can see it used the local flow around the Antilles as an example to going "around" Dominica.
