House sitting several dwellings there during 98 & 99... dealt with aftermath of Hurricane Georges in a house on the hillside in Destino. Beautiful island, delightful people...captured my heart. I adopted a sato (black lab-mix) from the animal shelter there and brought her back to the states with me. She has been my beach buddy for most of her 14 years. I still have friends on Vieques and worry about them when a hurricane aims at La Isla Nina.
