I think Irene will go Cat 4 today

Irene is developing that annular look we often see in very powerful storms, with a very pronounced, clear eye and a symmetrical CDO loaded with hot towers. I don't think it's inconceivable that we will have a Cat 4 by the 5 p.m. advisory. Crooked Island and Acklins Island in the Bahams are getting absolutely devastated at this time, as they are directly under the NE eyewall.
