| 11+ inches currently predicted for Long Island/NYC and a large area of 8+ inches for all or parts of MA, CT, RI, NJ. HIgher totals are possible if track shifts a bit westward. The Gulf coast and SE can handle this kind of rain without too many problems but the NE is not designed to handle it. 11 inches of rain is the equivalent of at least 55 - yes, FIFTY-FIVE - inches of snow! http://www.theweatherprediction.com/habyhints/346/  |
