Colder cloud tops have all but vanished

This is not the look of an intensifying system. The deeper reds indicative of the colder cloud tops we've seen at times with this system have all but vanished for the time being.

Even if it IS slow to weaken as the NHC suggests, a storm that begins weakening at 115 mph will pack less of a punch by the time it hits the northeast than it would should it begin to weaken at, say, 135 mph. I think it's really important that the storm stay put at its current intensity, and all indications over the past 36 hours suggest that it will:
