Yes, things get tricky in the harbor. And, after the storm, the CG has to survey big time to see how the clearance/bottom/shoals  have changed etc.. as well as replace or reposition channel markers etc..  The Navy needs to know if the piers are okay to bring the ships back in too.

You may not know that  Willoughby Spit - the area with a fairly big community of homes, businesses and condos near NOB base was made by a hurricane long ago. There has always been the scuttlebutt that someday, a hurricane would take it back!
