Hi all, we're watching the tail end of Irene pass through now. Hardly any water standing in our yard--don't know what condition the beach is in, and won't see till the wind is gone. The wind is probably around, and has stayed around, 75-80mph. No trees down that we can see. Atlantic Beach is without power (20 miles from us), as is New Bern, an hour away. We haven't even had a flicker of the power yet, but we could still use it.
The Sheraton pier at A Beach lost it's pier--that was where the media were staying in this area. We've saw that EI pier may have some damage, but don't know yet.
Hope everyone in the path of Irene fares as well as possible.
