Hello gang,
Checking in from norfolk this evening with a beer in hand in my barracks room watching the radar of Irene on the Tv and playing my video game. Rain let up for a bit about an hr I think not sure, decided to take a nap around 3pm :) Looks like the ye is about to pass just slightly east of elizabeth city if not over it, bu thte worst has yet to hit us as they are telling us. had a small tree turn over near my barracks, and a few tree limbs down and around the area. Gusts are still up to about almost 56 mph. Downtown Norfolk is beginning to flood over and high tide has yet to even begin. Trees are being reporrted down all over the place and yet we have yet tp experience the worse of the storm. Luckily the hurricane force winds have stayed off shore as they have yet to find any sustained winds of hurricane strength so far since this has started. Lo ts of ppl in the drak and w/o power. will keep you posted. |
