I know this is gonna sound like a smart a__ response-- with roof straps! They are galvenized metal straps, with a funny 90 degree angle---so one side goes on the struts and one on the 2X4 of the main building.
We had to put zillions of them (hyperbole of course!) in to meet code when building in Keys!
If it is a mfg house (think trailer) they have anchors in the ground and put long metal straps over the top to the anchor on the other side. Got them too!
If your home was built before a certain date-- they want you to add which ever variety is appropriate!
