Just talked with my daughter who is in Greenville, NC but her boufriend stayed at their house in Hatteras. Very little structural damage, but major flooding all over the island from the sound coming back in. The sound was dry as the storm went over. Boats were sitting on the pluff mud bottom. But now everything is flooding and the further north you go, the worse it is. Duck, Corolla, Colington Harbor, Manteo downtown...all soaked. 3 to 4 foot of water on Highway 12 in Salvo/Rodanthe area. Mo power on the island but alot of locals are able to post pics on this facebook page:
