To find the total water height you need to add the astronomical tide, which I think will be high in NY... plus the basic storm surge, and also the wave height... (Waves get things wet and break things too)

A 2.6 ft High Tide plus a 5.4 foot Storm Surge = an 8 ft "STORM TIDE"

The proper term for the high tide plus the surge is a "STORM TIDE"

Then you got to add in the 7.5 ft waves (if you further trust the NOAA models).

My "Wet Line" would be 8 ft (storm tide) + 7.5 ft (waves) = 15.5 ft above sea level (near open water only).

(BTW, I don't trust any of the models now)





You can forecast wave heights via this web site in increments of 6 hours:
