Now that I have power (and thus real internet) back I thought I would just say one thing. I know there will be discussion forever about this storm and all the "hype". When there is the flooding seen in NE, the power outages we have seen (1/2 the state of RI was without power this morning!), the people stranded on islands in the outer banks (yes they should have evacuated), etc. I don't think we can forget for those effected this storm was not "hype". I know the media always uses grand language and that may not have been the best but I would much rather see people prepared because of this language than underprepared. I am not an expert and I know many on here were trying to say this was coming but to the general public the detailed science is way above them. I just hope the next time we don't underplay a storm because of all this talk about "hype".
I truly appreciated all the info I got on this site before and during the storm. It was not my first storm (I used to live in FL) but my first living on an island! It was very helpful and this site is SUCH a resource!!
Now on to the next storm! |
