Agreed. Yet through all the uncertainty the broad picture has persisted: Lee heads northeast while Katria heads northwest, with the two systems appearing to be on a collision course. And unless I am missing something, the two will attract one another, a scenario in which I can certainly see Katia heading much closer to the eastern seaboard than many would be comfortable with.
Remember, it was a low--not an Atlantic ridge--that sucked Irene up the coast. It seems plausible to me that Lee's remnant's could potentially influence Katia in a similar manner.
