Hopefully it is not a fish. Losing power for a week wasn't fun here in CT. But, I highly doubt we would ever, ever get 2 tropical systems in one year. I'd be willing to bet my life on it. I waited 20 years since Hurricane Bob in 1991 for Irene. 20 Years! So.. it will unfortunately be another 20 years until we get another one here... and I will be 57 years old by then! In a way I feel like we were sort of cheated with Irene. Because it was not technically a hurricane when it hit up here. Although the damage was worse than Gloria, just because it hit at hide tide and it's movement was much slower. But, that was our hurricane quota.
I almost want to move down to Florida to get another hurricane. I can't stand the thought of having to wait another 20 years for another hurricane to hit Connecticut. Some people will think I'm sick for saying that. But, hey... I live for the storms... like I think most of you on this forum do. Even if it is not politically correct to "wish" for a hurricane to hit a given area.
