Troughs are coming off the east coast on a more regular basis. 2004 was a unique year in all phases. Just not very likely that storms in mid-September can make it from Africa and avoid troughs and make landfall in the US. We're close to the focus shifting more to the Caribbean in a few weeks.
I still think we have one more big one to watch. During busy hurricane seasons, we very often see a Mitch or Wilma or Opal form in the western caribbean. Just notice how deep those letters are....we're getting pretty deep this year. |
