I think it's a question of temperature differential at times and wondering if it's possible that the "juice loop" plays in here in that sometimes the water temp is not that hot but there is a flow of tropical moisture.
Imagine the Gulf Stream plays in with regard to the North Atlantic.
I know what you mean tho, logically speaking it makes no sense.
That's tropical weather. Good question you are bringing to the table.
I still think Chris is an anomaly sort of storm, looks like a hurricane but more a Noreaster type or whatever they call those Gale Centers up in that neck of the woods.
