I agree on both counts.. although, depending on the actual size of the core, he might be a major by mid-day tomorrow.

Ernesto has always had a fairly small and well-defined core structure. Looking at the AVN imagery, I don't believe that's changed too much. Couple that with the SSTs, TCHP values he's feeding on and the presence of an anticyclone venting him in all quads, he could ramp up fast. I hope the RECON coincides with updated 85Hz passes.

On a related note, I have a buddy working in the Caymans this summer. I should probably get on the horn with him soon...
