Gordon is headed directly toward Santa Maria Island, in the Azores of Portugal. Population 6,000.
Accuweather is calling for hurricane conditions including damaging winds and torrential rainfall tonight and tomorrow.

It was 6 years ago in 2006. It was also a Cat 1 hurricane. It was also named Gordon. No joke.
