The GFS seems to be handling development of cyclones much better this year than in some previous years.  It hasn't been over-aggressive in spinning up lows out of every wave.  Ernesto did get a bit stronger than the GFS expected but the GFS had the right idea of the track at least 5 or 6 days out.  It has also handled Gordon and Helene/95L pretty well.

Here is what the experts (HPC) are currently thinking on 94L and it generally agrees with the GFS.  I don't like seeing that through sitting over the SE US and the Bermuda high not extending very far westward as 94L approaches.  Stay tuned on this one for sure.
