Can we please retire the phrase "Isaac is on the verge of becoming a hurricane"?

Seriously. I've been hearing this for three days from everyone and everywhere. I drove into work this morning, put on NPR, and, lo and behold, there it was again, an update on Isaac in which he was described as being "On the verge of becoming a hurricane."

Isaac will become a Hurricane when he becomes a hurricane. Until then, he's a tropical storm. Good grief.
