The worst of the surge is in Black Bay

It appears from the IKE models that the worst of the storm surge is staying in Black Bay. This is the 2 degree model or 120 mi by 120 mile
4 degree model or 240 by 240
8 degree model or 480 by 480
Note this is not a Surge model but a model of the total energy of the storm or the Integrated Kinetic Energy (IKE). This is a better indication of the power of a storm in a given area than the Saffir Simpson or wind indications.
I would go into detail on what all of this means but my daughter has school tomorrow. She did a science fair project on this 4 years ago showing how IKE was a better indication of the damage in Galveston area from Hurricane Ike Surge than the Saffir Simpson Scale.
