Thanks. I'm working non stop on tropical stuff right now. (been pretty much doing that since July.) I'll still be working non stop on tropical stuff probably through mid 2013. In the last month I have been working on processing dropsonde data above 100mb which is where the GlobalHawk flew at earlier this year. When I get the dropsonde decoder rewritten and well tested, I'll be able to add that data to my site. (I wish the GlobalHawk mission was going on now, they would not have had to fly very far from VA)
I don't mind the data being shared. I actually posted it somewhere else too and on my site. It's still experimental of course. I need to revisit it and organize it better. I want to make the chart better too. I got sidetracked on doing the dropsonde decoder for NOAA and NASA and have not been back to working on the AXBT for over a month.
Since this morning I also went ahead and created a temporary archive that updates every hour on the hour that stores the NOAA AXBT data for the mission so far: http://tropicalatlantic.com/noaa-aoc/images.shtml?path=AXBT
The way it is setup it has all the old data in there from earlier this year as well. I might turn off the archive after Sandy is done. I retrieve the archived data from a site that I'm not sure I can give the address too, so I had to create something for people to access the old data for now.
I just about simultaneously got asked from someone at NOAA to do NOAA AXBT data and just before that someone in the Navy asked about doing Air Force data. Perhaps by next year I might be able to get Air Force data as well within not too many hours after the AXBT is dropped. I have someone trying to get me access to that for next year. |
